We place the best licensed tradespeople with companies worth working for. One of us is an engineer and one of us is an operator, and we both grew up in the Midwest around people who work with their hands. Companies pay our fee. Tradespeople never pay anything.
No hire, no fee. Ever.

Greg MillerThe engineer
I spent fifteen years building software. I left a venture-backed fintech as CTO when it was acquired, co-founded an AI company that became one of AppSumo's biggest launches of 2024, and built the research tools a venture fund used to find the right companies and the right people.
My brother-in-law was a carpenter, and I grew up in Avon Lake, Ohio, around work you can stand inside when it is done. At Miller Franco I run the research. I read license rosters and permit records so we know what the work pays, town by town, and who is actually holding a market up.

Tony FrancoThe operator
I have spent my career building the companies other people work inside. I founded SafeChain, which stopped wire fraud in real estate closings and was backed by Steve Case and Chamath Palihapitiya. I ran operations at Aunt Flow from $200K in revenue to $10.8M.
Most recently I built a customer operations organization from zero to 350 people and kept monthly churn under 5%. The hiring engine behind it made 125 hires in six months, almost all by referral. At Miller Franco I run the placements. Hiring well is the thing I have done the longest.
We both left the trades without ever really leaving them. Greg went into software and Tony went into operations, and we each spent over a decade watching well-run companies win because they hired well. Then we looked back at the world we came from and saw the opposite.
The trades run on word of mouth. A master electrician rarely knows what the next town over would pay for the same license, and a shop that legally needs a licensed person on staff mostly finds out who is available by luck. These are the jobs software will not replace, and they have the worst job market information of any skilled work in the country.
So we do the two things we are actually good at. Greg studies the market until the numbers are plain, and Tony finds the fit between a person and a company, which he has done at every company he has built. Great people should end up at great companies. Somebody has to make the introduction.
If you need a licensed person, call us before you post the job. We keep track of the best people near you and what it would take to move them, and we would rather send you nobody than someone we do not believe in. Our terms are simple.
- Fee on startnot before
You pay when the hire shows up for work. No retainer, no exclusivity, no minimum.
- 90 daysguaranteed
If the hire leaves inside 90 days, we run the replacement search free.
- No hire, no feeever
If we cannot find you someone worth hiring, you owe us nothing.
If you are a tradesperson and we have ever reached out, that is all it was. We thought your work was worth knowing about. Nothing about you goes to any company unless you say so, and you never pay us anything.
Hiring? Tell us the seat you need filled and the town it is in. Looking? Tell us what would make a move worth it.
